Coloured a couple concept pieces for our 3rd year film so I thought I would share them here! Productivity! I feel like the photobooths ended up having a sort of retro vibe to them, not entirely what I was going for but I'm happy with how they turned out. The other picture was kind of just for fun, I couldn't resist drawing our wide-eyed ghosty.

School has started once again! I'm in third year now, which means time for some group film drama! Here is a little quick concept for my story pitch. It's about a ghost who wants to have her picture taken with someone.

Fish lady! For an RP. Inspired by Zoras from the Zelda games.

An old RP character of mine, Lunais and her pigeons. She's supposed to be kind of lanky and awkward, but has a way of communicating with birds. It's amazing, I haven't drawn anything personal for quite some time. Coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

This is a sequence of images I did for character design. Business Pug makes a triumphant return! We were given a scenario and had to draw a character acting appropriately for it. For this one it was: "A character wants something he should not have. He is caught with the object, resulting in him being guilty or scared." I get a kick out of it. Click for the large version.

Okay so I am terrible for not posting anything. 3 posts in 2010? That is SAD. Life has been busy though. I am finished second year! Here are some of my background paintings from school this year.

Well the end of last semester was stressing me out.. but which explains my lack of posts. But here is some of the stuff I was working on!




Second semester here I come!

First painting assignment! Paint a scene using solids, gradients, 3D form and lighting, and one in a monochromatic color scheme. I love gouache but I forgot how annoying it can be sometimes..
I think they look nifty!

Jessica Channer is a graduate of the BAA Animation program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. She lives in Toronto with her boyfriend and her evil cat. 

Her interests lie in illustration, comics, video games, and background painting for animation.

I'm going to try this blogging thing out again. Last time was kind of unsuccessful since my computer blew itself up and everything went to hell. I supposed the one positive aspect about this is that I learned how to build a computer.
I could say that life is going relatively well for me right now. I ended up getting into Sheridan for animation, finally! So I hope I can fill this blog with whatever I'm learning in school, its going to be a long 4 years. I'm going to try and remember to take pictures of my baking as well and put that up here.. :)
